Ulises |Baroque Music and Mexican Solitude
While developing the concept for Ulises, a Mexican viola da gamba musician, we wanted to create calm, almost mystical scenes through the blue hour, the cold grey chapel, the tree roots inspired by Pan’s Labyrinth, as well as Ulises’ personal objects, which reveal his deep connection to his homeland.
Through different symbols — the little devil figure, the small coffee cup in form of a monster’s head, the slug plush toy he brings to all of his concerts, and of course his two beautiful baroque instruments — we sought to build an intimate universe somewhere between imagination, memory, and music.
